Required Documents

Before you can begin your research, you are required to submit and have approved three documents: Your research proposal, timeline of activities, and budget. Please use the templates and instructions below to create each document. Once it is approved by your advisor, committee, and/or supervisor please submit using the online document upload form. If you would like, you can submit multiple documents with a single form. After you officially submit your thesis, you are required to upload an electronic copy using the same form.


Research Proposal: You should follow your university’s required format for your research proposal. Once you receive formal approval from your advisor, committee, and/or supervisor you must submit the proposal using the document upload form.


Timeline of Activities: Download the template using this link and use it to plan a schedule for your research activities. Once approved by your advisor, committee, and/or supervisor, submit the timeline using the document upload form.


Budget: Click the following links to download the budget template and appropriate budget guidelines (MSc Guidelines or PhD Guidlines). Use these documents to create a detailed budget. If possible, insert electronic signatures to complete the form and submit using the document upload form as an Excel file. Alternatively, you may submit an unsigned Excel file and also submit a scan of the signature page. Please do not submit a budget that exceeds the maximum allowance ($5,000 for MSc students and $15,000 for PhD students).


Thesis and Abstract: After your thesis and abstract are officially submitted to your university, you must upload an electronic copy for iAGRI’s records using the document upload form.
